Number 6? That'ssssss Riiiiiight...

I think MTV got this one about right. Anything higher than mid-table and I would've begrudged their decision and further doubt this list. Needless to say though, Jeezy has still done his thing over the last year releasing another solid album that showed slight progression (more than most at the moment), despite his infatuation with the white. One of the lines, for me, that epitomised his lyrical progression but failure to diverse his subject matter was from DJ Khaled's 'Brown Paper Bag' where he raps:
"Thank god for those days, Thank God for those nights,
Know it sounds wrong, Thank Gog for that white."
Upon the release of his sophmore effort, The Inspiration: Thug Motivation 102, Jeezy was catapulted to the top of the charts selling 350,000 copies, almost doubling the first week sales of 101. Futhermore, his USDA group effort, Cold Summer, made it to number 4 in the Billboard 200 chart (number 1 in the Billboard Hip Hop chart) selling 95,000 in its opening week and is currently standing around the 230,000 mark.
MTV bring in F-A-B-O to co-sign his presence:
"[We've] always been homies. It's good to see him doing
hit thing; he's in his own lane, he wears his hat well. I'm rooting for
him."
Now then, we're down to the top 5, so who's it gonna be?
1. Lil' Wayne
2. Kanye West
3. T.I.
4. Game
5. Ludacris
Who came close then?
Nas, Chamillionaire, Fabolous
